At five years old, he returned to his forefather’s land – Japan – to study his family’s system. This system was known as Koshu-Ryu Kenpo (meaning Old Pine Tree School of the Fist Way). Koshu-Ryu Kenpo was developed from Sho Lin Chuan Fa, which is the original Chinese style changed to Japanese terminology, thus, indicating that Kenpo is Chinese in origin. Dr. Mitosi began teaching his interpretation of Koshu-Ryu Kenpo in 1942, and called his system Kenpo-Jiujitsu. Among his noted students were Professor William K. S.
